Cyril Newsom Choat: born c.1896 in Lambeth: died on 23rd April, 1918, as a result of war wounds sustained whilst serving in France with the Transvaal - Scottish Regiment.
Apparently educated at March Grammer School, Cambridgeshire and shown on the school memorial as Joseph Choat and on the Whittleseey 'Roll of Honour' as Joseph Cyril Choate. Served in WW1 as 2nd Lt 4th Regiment South African Infantry. Apparently buried in Longuenesse (St. Omar) Souvenir Cemetary, St. Omar, Pas de Calais. At the school from 20 September 1909 until 29 July 1913 when he left and went to South Africa, Indire (sic)
Kathleen Newsom Choat: born 20th November, 1897, in Lambeth: married Leslie More McCALLUM c. 1920 in Johhannesburg and had two children, a boy Justin, and a girl - Anne. Died 13th March, 1986, in Crowborough, Sussex.

Winifred Mary Choat: born 23rd July, 1899, in Wimbledon, London. Married Harold Dyke WELLS 18th December 1822, Indwe, Cape Province, and had three children , two boys and a girl. Died 27th July, 1965, in Durban, Natal.
Benjamin Choat: born c.April 1901 and died 5th May, 1902, in Ilford, Essex
